To do this Wooden Steel begins your Custom Bokken using only the finest domestic and exotic hardwoods from all over the world. Each of the woods offered has been tested by us and comes with either a “For Contact” or “Not For Contact” rating. When you are selecting your wood we encourage you to visit our Woods of the World map to see pictures of the woods and get more information on your choices. Also, if you are looking for a particular wood that is not currently listed with our products feel free to contact us. We can give you a custom quote within a few minutes on any wood you may want.
Once you have chosen the wood for your Bokken each sword is rough shaped using a combination of hand and power tools. your Bokken is then finished and polished using planers and cabinet scrapers as opposed to sand paper, this allows the grain of the wood to stand out not fill in with saw dust giving your sword a spectacular finish. Each sword is then treated with a low gloss Tung Oil finish to bring out the highlights of the wood.
Bokken offered include the standard three swords of the Samurai as well as Tai Chi, Korean Broadsword(Can be used as Subrito) and we will be offering a Curved Kung Fu Sword as well. Each sword is listed with standard sizing, if you desire a more customized sizing simply put your requirements in the customer comments section of your order and we will contact you to verify the details.
